What GLP-1s actually cost without insurance
If you've priced GLP-1s, you've seen the whiplash. One site quotes a number that looks like a car payment. Another advertises a price that seems too good, then buries the real total in add-on fees.
Our audience is price-sensitive and tired of decoder rings. So here's the straight version.
Why GLP-1 pricing is so confusing
Three reasons.
Insurance coverage is inconsistent. Many plans exclude weight-management medications entirely, even when they cover the identical drug for diabetes. So most people comparing programs are effectively cash-pay, whether they realize it yet or not.
The unit math varies. Some programs quote per month. Some quote per fill, and a fill might cover a month or a quarter. Some quote the medication and the visit separately. Comparing them without normalizing everything to a per-month number is how people get burned.
Fees hide in different places. Consult fees, membership fees, shipping fees, "priority processing" fees. A low headline price with four line items underneath isn't a low price.
The two pricing models you'll see
Pay-as-you-go telehealth. You pay for the visit, then pay for the medication, then pay again when anything changes. It can look cheaper upfront. It rarely stays that way, and it puts a price tag on every question you want to ask.
Flat membership. One monthly price covers the provider pathway, the medication if prescribed, and support. You know your cost before you start, and asking your coach a question doesn't generate an invoice.
Corivo is built on the second model. One price. No decoder ring required.
What your membership should include
When you're comparing programs, the right question isn't "what's the number." It's "what's inside the number." Look for:
- Provider consultation and ongoing clinical review
- The medication itself, if prescribed, with shipping
- Real human support between refills, not a chatbot and an FAQ page
- No separate charges for follow-ups, adjustments, or questions
At Corivo, ongoing coaching powered by Concorde Health is inside the membership, not a paid add-on. We think the support is the product, not an upsell. More on why in why coaching matters on GLP-1s.
A note on "too cheap"
Some rock-bottom prices are real. Some reflect corners being cut on sourcing, clinical oversight, or support. If a price seems impossible, ask where the medication comes from and who reviews your care. Any program worth joining will answer both questions plainly.
Frequently asked questions
Why won't my insurance cover GLP-1s for weight management?
Many employers and plans exclude weight-management drugs to control spend, even while covering the same drugs for diabetes. Coverage is expanding slowly, but exclusions are still common.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
Often, yes, for the medical portions of care. Check with your plan administrator, since rules vary.
Is a membership cheaper than paying per visit?
For most people using medication month over month with ongoing support, a flat membership costs less and, just as important, costs predictably. If you'd only ever need a single consult and nothing else, pay-per-visit can pencil out. That's rarely how weight care actually goes.
What's Corivo's price?
Current membership pricing is on our pricing page. One flat monthly fee, everything listed above included.
